Ultra Marathon Running Movie – Indulgence
A short preview for the upcoming film "Indulgence" (Formerly Project Anton), featuring ultra marathon phenom Anton (Tony) Krupicka in the mountains of the western US. Check out the site at www.negativesplit.net for more running coverage.
He inspires me to run for the fun of it…to enjoy life.
He looks like Yogis next snack.

It’s the best book ever.
After reading it, I started chirunning with Vibram Five Fingers. Totally crazy!
this man is a legend, i want to meet him how will i? he inspires me to run marathons!
That book changed my life
try running barefoot, trust me, its what I did, and like you I never like running, now I’ll happily go out and run for an hour or more at a time. Learning to run properly is gold, cos once you’ve learnt it, you’ll be able to just run for the sake of running, it’s awesome
yea i agree dude, that book is crazy.. makes me feel good to be a runner
I do love running for as long as I can in our mountains (dunes) on the Dutch Coast. but the landscape Anton is seeing during his runs… Awesome! I hope to be able to buy the video.
BTW: nice music! Anybody knows the title?
read born to run man
it wasn’t days at a time, but yes you are right, but then it was 2 hundred thousand years ago that we chased our prey down, and there are still groups of people out there that continue the tradition.
It’s sad how our brains are programmed to take the easy way…
oh yea i knew that lol. If you see my earlier posts, you’ll see that I spelled it correctly there. It was late when I wrote that comment and, as usual, I wrote it fast without paying too much attention to the spelling.
the word you’re seeking is actually “prey”. Since I’ve learned to forefoot/midfoot strike I’ve immensely enjoyed my running.
@Nori313 you’re right that was 2 million years ago, but humans have been traveling by long distance running up to about just 10 to 15 thousand years ago. Those humans then were homosapiens just like us. The first humans entered north America just about 15,000 years ago. They came there by chasing after pray.
ya that was 2 million years ago, homo ergaster would chase after their pray for days at a time, but since then our brains have taken over and we learned how to trap our prey, our bodies were less suited for those ultra long distances…now im not saying that its not in us, but we’re just not as programmed as we once were, 2 million years ag
hes shaving a few MM off the heal of the shoe to allow for a more front foot strike. Makes them lighter and mimic barefoot running.
What is he doing to his shoes at the start of the video? Cutting? What’s the advantage to doing that?
shit! i ve just seen jesus runing
Just joking
try this… run regularly for about 2 months… eventually you’ll begin to really enjoy it.. In fact, you might even grow some sort of emotional dependence on it, as I and many other runners have. It relives a lot of tension. If you do this and you still find it not enjoyable, read some books on running that will help you turn the experience into something positive. There are a lot of books out there like that. Search around a bit and you’ll find some.

I must not know how to run right because I’m a fairly in-shape guy who isn’t afraid of a long bike ride or a long swim at all, but…whenever I run I find myself fucking HATING IT.
This was the best way to hunt before distance weapons were created since most animals are too fast for humans to catch within a short distance. So to sum it all up, humans are actually evolved for distance running because the only way to catch prey was to exhaust it by slowly chasing for miles on end. This is not to say that we didnt evolve to be sprinters though. I’m just saying that distance running has played a strong role in the evolution of human
we actually evolved to be distance runners, not sprinters. Distance running is how we hunted. Since we were not fast enough to chase prey and catch them within a mile, we slowly chased them for many miles until they had no energy left. Deer for example are sprinters. Early hunters would slowly chase after them for miles until the deer could run no further, since deer are sprinters, not distance runners. Running long distances after prey helped early humans exhaust their prey.
Oh yeah I should but I haven’t run a marathon since ‘82, or at all since ‘84. Let’s not talk about the weight I’ve added in those years either. I was a lazy runner at best, and manage to get my kick in the pool these days.
Run barefoot more often (on soft grass or dirt).
I love 1:32 to 1:56
that’s exactly why I run
